I have been clipping them off (dusting) when I notice them, but I would like to know if there is a remedy to stop them. I dont put too much heat to my hair only when I was and set it. I just did a protein treatment...Any advice??

Deep conditioning and moisturize your ends and sealing them. Keracare humectro makes a conditioners that stops spilt ends. HTH:grin:

Castor oil is a great sealant. It's thick and coats the hair shaft nicely. I use this when I seal in moisture to baggy. Baggying has significantly stopped the amount of split ends I originally had. I used to be a headfull!

Pre pooing with oil (to protect your hair from the drying shampoo), baggying (to keep your ends moisturized) and deep conditioning regularly :yep:

I went about 5 years without needing a trim, when I stopped baggying and deep conditioning, I got splits. Needless to say, they've made it back into my regimen

stay away form heat if you're worried about splits!!!!

In my experience, when I use heat I get splits. when I leave the heat alone i dont have many splits. keep in mind, you will always have some splits. as long as it's not in excess i dont think you should worry.

also splits can be caused by not enough moisture.

proper deep conditioning, gentle handling/seamless combs, keeping ends protected and moisturized

I am doing away with ALL shampoos that contain sulfates....doing mostly condition washes and using baking soda to clarify...I am going to see if this reduces splits....

once your hair health is in order.....you wont have a split end problem.........take care your hair inside out...take a multivitam for the body.i use once a day womans vitamin because the foods today lack the nutrients the body needs....

Try the aphogee hard treatment. I used this a few weeks ago and after conditioning, blow drying and flat ironing I had 90% less split ends.

I got a trim a few weeks ago and I've been trying to keep my ends nice too!

I agree w/putting oil on the ends. I have fine hair so I hate grease and prefer not to oil my hair. However, I use oil (Amla Lite) as a prepoo and then in the middle of the week or in between washes (because sometimes I was more than once a week) I add a little bit of oil to just the very ends to protect them from splits.

So far I've had success w/oil. I think it's been about 3 weeks. :)
