The reviews about Silicon Mix pushed me over the edge to finally buy it and I haven't looked back since.

I learned about clarifying and now get more bang for my buck from conditioners :p

The tips about using baking soda to exfoliate and to whiten teeth...priceless! At 50 cents a box too.....no more apricot scrub for moi;)

Let's not even forget learning about sealing. who knew the order of applying products make a huge difference in dry vs. smooth airdried hair:look:

I'm sure there's more........

Gosh, this site has saved me so many $40+ salon visits, I think I may owe more than $5, but don't tell anybody:look:

What I learned about clarifying has really helped me. Also all the info I have received about henna and co-washing (I don't do either but one day I will start)

Your hair is one of the healthiest I have seen. Very beautiful!

This site has saved me big $$$$$$$'s. I now know how to do everything to my own hair except trim and I have learned that too. I just haven't done it yet. I wanna wait until I'm brastrap so I can see the back. This site has helped me find my staple products cheap/expensive. I love this site because I'm able to grow my hair myself and do my own hair...and make it look good too;)

The price of admission is worth it for Blosssom's and Firecracker's posts alone.

This site has also saved me hundreds of dollars in salon visits, drying shampoos, recycled conditioners. It has spared me from relaxer burns, heat-damaged and broken hair. Plus the baking soda tips for skin and dental care have been priceless.

The best $5 I've ever spent in my life.

Those gals are off the chain, arent they?! Anyhow, too much to name but Ive gotten so much out of this board and Im so thankful.:)

-The hair tips alone are worth millions. Considering the misinformation I had been fed for years regarding my hair and how to care for it. I'd pay $45.99 for membership were it necessary.

- Fellowship with women is a necessity in a world that seeks to keep us as enemies. I haven't seen the kind of the openess and sharing on this board anywhere else.

- Relish the new ideas and perspectives. As a Virgo (lol) I know I can be very rigid when it comes to MY idea of how I think things should work. Rather than lock these thoughts in as law, I can run my ideas past the women here and see what others have to say. That too is worth millions.

- Beautywitch. We've never met and this may be a bit presumptuous (sp?) but I swear she's my long lost soul-sister. Many times I'll think of posting in a topic, only to read what she has to say and realize there is no need for redundancy on the subject. It's nice to see that I'm not the only one with "outrageously liberal" yet logical (to me) ideas on life.

Not only for the reasons listed above but also to have access to information you can't get unless you are a paid memeber. Of course all the wonderful Hair buddies I have now is worth it. If I need to know something, I know it's only a PM away if I can't find it on the boards. That is worth the 5.00 alone!

(Oh and the search feature. I dont think you can use that unless you are a paid memeber.)

I've learned about MTG, Surge, S curl and other products that helped my hair to thrive. I no longer relax my hair every 4 weeks. I can stretch up to 3 months...longer if I want to.;) So many encouraging fotkis pics to stalk. I also like the exercise forum. You can learn so much for 5 bucks.:) I've yet to master braiding, but that will be the next challenge.

I, have learned so much about hair care and retention from LHCF members. I was suffering from hair thinning at my front side edges so did a search for KUZ due to my new found Dominican stylist who suggested it as a remedy for the thinning. Up pops LHCF, so I took a long look, subsequently joined and have been hooked ever since. I absolutely love this site! I do not know how I'd do without it. The days when I deliberately, or incidentally skip logging in here, I still think about it. The members are in the majority wonderful caring sisters and I love the comraderie, the assistance and the 'tell it like it t-i-s' responses. I love the idea of black women breaking myths and helping one another to healthy, long hair. I love the different personalities and I especially love the LOVE which shows when members hold a hand to a needy member and so quickly. I'll never forget how I suffered a relaxer burn; not even recognizing it as such and members immediately came to my rescue. I LOVE how we are a group of educated, intelligent, women who support and encourage one another. I get my $5 bucks worth by listening, responding, laughing and just enjoying this way of connecting :user: to the women here. My most intimate, "know most everything" face to face friends are a group of 5 white women,{{ mitigating circumstance y'all}} but they could never be told nor understand some issues which I present here at LHCF.
I love you guys...GROUP HUG:p !!:p !!!:p !!

I got my moneys woth befor I ever even joined. The product recomendations have been a lifesaver, I learned about vitamins,MTG, bagging , I have always wante dlong hair and never could pull it off thill now. Fulfilling my dream is priceless:D .

I've learned so many things here; my $5 was well spent!

  1. Daily moisturizing, then sealing
  2. Stretching relaxers w/ S-Curl (who knew?)
  3. Amla, Vatika, EVOO and Hot 6 Oils (love these oils...)
  4. Deep Conditioning (ORS Replenishing Pak; used to pass them by in the store!)
  5. Protein/Moisture Conditioners & shampoos (renewed my love affair with Creme of Nature and Nexxus products)
  6. Henna/Indigo/Cassia/Amla (learned how to mix and apply)
  7. Qhemet Biologic products (love that Sidr Tree!)
  8. Oyin products (love that Burnt Sugar Pomade!)
  9. Ojon products
  10. Dominican-style haircare techniqes and products
  11. Benefits of airdrying (been doing for years and gonna keep doing it)
  12. Good Hair Days Pins (saved my hair from bobby pins and such)
  13. Sally's
  14. Hair websites (Mehandi, Hennasooq, Long Hair Community)
  15. Fotki (started my own!)
  16. And on, and on, and on....

everything I've learned here

different oils
protein
friends
cooking forum
esp off topics

and I wouldn't know all celebs if it were not for this site

I got my $5 and some. I have learned sooooo much from this site. I am sooooo very thankful to have stumbled across it.

(((HUGS))) to everyone!

What HAVEN'T I learnt? I thought I knew a lot about hair care before finding LHCF, but after reading the recommendations, suggestions, etc from the ladies on this board, I now know that I knew NOTHING!!!

ORS Replenishing Pak $1
Giovanni Direct Leave in $5
Chi Silk Infusion $20
LHCF Membership....PRICELESS

Thank you LHCF Ladies!!!!

I have learned so much from the sistas on this site. There was so much stuff I had wrong. My hair is longer than it's ever been. This website has opened up options never knew I had. I feel like I get my $5.00 worth everytime I log on.

Just learning how to do my own hair and not relying on someone else to do it for me is priceless. I would have never tried henna had it not been for LHCF. I would not have decided to transition if it hadn't been for this site having valuable info on how to successfully transition out of a perm. I didn't know anything about clarifying, Dominican conditioners co-washing, baggying, taking biotin and so many other things until I found this site. My hair is the healthiest that it has ever been. Thanks LHCF!!:)

I don't post much, but I definitely have learned to apply ssoooooooooo much from this site and its awesome members. My hair has improved so much since I've been a member. Priceless:D
