I was just curious to know the epiration date on the Mizani relaxer becasue I was thinking about trying it so I called the company. The rep told me that in my area, the relaxer shouldn't be sold in beauty supply stores and they may be unauthentic. She said that it could look like the authentic relaxer in the same packaging but may in fact not be the real thing. So how can one tell the real one from the fake one if you have purchase it in a store? And is there anywhere online to get the authentic one from?

The problem is you can't tell. Like the woman said they can get another relaxer and put it into a mizani relaxer and sell it as mizani relaxer this is the case with other counterfeit professional products. In other cases some products (including shampoo styling etc) may be an old formula from years ago or it might be watered down. I think that you have to be especially careful with chemicals color relaxers etc, b/c if its old you could run the risk of injuring yourself b/c those things DO have expirations dates.

You would have to go to someplace like sheldeez.com or another salon that has a website. What the lady told you holds true for alot of professional products that are sold in nonsalons or nonprofessional stores. For example some of the stuff sold in grocery stores, or stores likew walmart target MIGHT be counterfeit but alot of people still buy them.

Another option is if you have a friend that is a cosmetologist or holds a cosmetologist liscense that can go and get it for your at a professional store (like Davidsons that sells mizani keracre) that only allows liscensed professionals to buy.

I don't know why people buy from grocery stores/drug when there is NO price difference from if you were to buy it from a salon. IN fact alot of salons constantly run sales on professional products so to me its not worth the risk of buying it at a non-professional retail store.

Thanks , i decided to order from sheldeez yesterday until i asked around about them and i was told to read the vendors review about them. So after reading all the warnings about them i decided to order from GIGI beauty, i think that's the name i forgot. But I was very shaky about purchasing this mizani line over the internet. Thanks again for the advice. I do apreciate it.:)

This is why I refuse to by a proffessional product from a BSS. I use design essentials and I order it directly from them. I did purchase some Biolage from Target though. I've seen Mizani in my local bss and I refuse to buy it. It just popped up in there one day.

And in my area you can only get Mizani from a licensed beautician, who orders it from a distributor. None of the stores have it.
