How can weaves help your hair grow?

I'm guessing that if you got sew ins then your hair underneath would grow while it's braided?

Because it's a protective style. Your hair is covered (especially the ends) and it's a low manipulation style.

Gotta be careful though...weaves aren't for everybody. Broke my hair off.

I wore a weave for 6 weeks and my hair loved it!!! Thinking about doing it again this winter.

Yeah basically---its going to grow no matter what having it braided will protect/help you retain your other hair really good becauase your not touching it at all
