I'm wondering though - how can you get the point of overconditioning? Some people co wash every day and don't have overconditioning problems? Does it come into play with sleeping in conditioner overnight?
Hairlove, my guess is if you use a lot of moisturizing conditioner never balancing that out with a protein one or a reconstructor (that's protein and moisturizer in one), then your hair can get too soft. I imagine that using a conditioner that's got both protein and moisture can prevent "over-conditioned" softness.

Yeah your hair will literally feel like it is melting in your hands. Trust me.

Precisely, doll. That's when I reach for the Clairol Renewal 5X conditioner for dry/damaged hair. It strengthens my fine 4b hair without the barbed wire side effects that protein treatments induce.

Yeah it is from too much moisture and softening and not enough protein.

Thanks, Karezone. I had been wondering if I was suffering these effects since finding short pieces of hair instead of long pieces. This had me worried so I'm doing a light protein treatment today.
