How can I replicate this technique at home?

The last time I had my hair straightened I had a deep condition with apparently some Mizani conditioner under a steam dryer. My cuticles felt extremely smooth after it was straightened, and the next time I washed my hair, it dried extremely light and fluffy when sometimes it can dry really hard and stiff. (It hasn't done that lately the longer I get used to styling my natural hair but it's still rare that my hair dries very light and buttery.)

Is it possible to mimic this at home without a steam dryer? I thought the biggest indicator of how my hair would dry is how clean it gets (I shampoo with baking soda and a small amount of clarifying shampoo) but the shampoo I had at the salon didn't seem particularly vigorous.

At this point in my hair journey I'm satisfied the length will come with time since I don't manipulate my hair too much these days. Instead I'm trying to learn how to get my hair to feel soft and supple because it's hit or miss after a wash.

I normally detangle with a Jilbere in the shower, then comb through conditioner with a denman, then braid and allow to air dry.
