Hi Lady's.

I want to make a fall/half wig - i love these, but i dont like the big lumpy part showing under my hair...THERE MUST BE A WAY???:lachen:

Ive make a net wig with curly hair and left my hairline out. I know the curly provides for some coverage but I havent noticed any lumps. Sometimes I'll just put my hair in 4-6 braids and join the ends. Using a wig cap or a nylon helps to smooth everything out.

Are we talking braid lumps or where the net joins with your hair?

If you can see a lump where it meets up with your hair, you could try a headband or doing a swoop bang?

I GOT THIS FROM SOMEONES FOTKI. HOPE THIS HELPS
Okay here is what I did.
Materials: black threa
Wig cap: http://www.hairsisters.com/ver2/ViewDetail.php?product_id=3098&searchOption=5&viewOption=1&position=0&limit=20&value1=3705&value2=0&value3=0&search=0
Curved needle
Saran wrap (I use a zip lock bag because I did not have the wrap on hand)
Clear packing tape
Hair pins
Hair clips

Braid hair, leaving out desired hair for center part, side part, or hair in the back for pony tail. Make sure to braid hair around edges so cap can have something to be attach to
Wrap the saran wrap on your head, or cover head with anything plastic (make sure it’s snug)
Wrap tape over saran wrap (make sure it’s snug)
Place wig net on head over wrap (mold)
Use hair pins to pull wig net down over your mold. If not wig net will slide. Weave net should be placed on head in same place as you would wear it when complete. Pins will be place into the braids for stability

Now you are ready to sew the wefts on, as if you are doing a regular sew in
Sew wefts until you reach the crown area near the center part
Remove cap from head
Tape the inside of the cap with clear tape under the unfinished area (so the needle will not pierce braids)
Place cap back on head with tape underneath (this is done to make sure the wig will fit right and you line up the wefts with the center part)
Complete wefts around the center part
Measure area of the center part so that the area will be wide enough of small enough to bring your hair through
Remove cap from head and cut out the U
Sew hair clips onto wig around U. You can also sew clips on to back of wig, or secure with hair pins. Clips will be attached to the weft and wig cap

After you have completed the above step your wig she be complete.

Make sure you have enough hair out in the front or around U to attach hair clips to. You can also sew the wig on if you no not want to use hair clips.

Thanks and yes where the net joins with your hair. Sometimes they just have this bulk.

I guess i could just use one of my old half wigs and try and sew the hair onto that myself...sometimes when i try DIY i just feel like its not right.

Also do you find that combs etc will break the hair eventually if you wear a fall that has a comb??
