How can I get this ponytail?

What's the best way to achieve this type of ponytail? I have 3c, bra strap length hair. I could probably get pretty close if I flat ironed, but I prefer not to apply a lot of heat. I've been checking out the UPA clip, but I wonder how well it will hang if I wear it close to my nape.

Suggestions?

I'm not sure how much heat you're willing to apply so I won't suggest flat ironing. Actually my hair looks a lot like this right now. I did a ponytail rollerset where I put my hair in one high ponytail and rolled the ends w/ big (gray) rollers using lottabody. I used BTZ Stiff Head on my edges using a scarf and they came out relaxer straight. I sat under the dryer but you could air-dry if you want. When I took the rollers out I combed it out and I very lightly blew out some of the damp parts and applied a moisturizer and oil. Then before bed I put my hair in a ponytail and did one bantu knot which made the loose wave.

Here's a couple pics. Sorry they are so bad. I was very tired that day and didn't feel like fooling with that camera. I plan on wearing my hair like this to cut down on heat. I also have some pics in my album where I wet wrapped my hair and did the bantu knot. It came out similar to that pic as well. I have all the instructions in the album. They are both very low heat styles that will achieve this look. HTH
