My hair is sorta dry and I'm wanting do do one today. I have nothing else to do. :spinning:

What oils are you using and how are you doing it? Thanks ladies!!

Hi Meka! I was doing them this winter, but haven't done one lately.:ohwell:

I used either: Wheat Germ, Jojoba, Sweet Almond, Avacado, Coconut, Olive Oil(s) Slathered on 'dry hair', put on a Plastic Cap or 2 (because of the drip) and got under my Heat Cap for about 30 minutes to an hour.:yep:

Then proceeded to Co-Wash, DC etc.......

Some Ladies, pre-heat their Oil in the Microwave, remember not too hot:blush:

I just pick an oil out of my stash and rub it all over my dry hair. Then stick a shower cap on and I MIGHT get under the dryer for a few. Or just do it before hopping in the shower and let the steam penetrate it.

If I want to get technical then I'll put the oil in my dispenser bottle and part my hair and run the oil on my scalp and massage it in before shampooing.

I'll use Castor oil, coconut oil, Hairveda Cocasta Oil, Olive oil, etc...Just a bunch of different oils collected from different vendors in the store or online.

just to check that putting oils on the scalp and steaming will not damage follicles???

ETA: I also usually cut my oils with aloe vera gel.
