How 2 heat activate conditioners with no hooded dryer/appliances!>>>

Ok, so my hooded dryer broke. In the meantime, I needed a way to use heat (minus a blow dryer) to activate my conditioners. So, I put some thermasilk moisturizing conditioner, olive oil, and honey in a zip lock bag. I heated a very small pot of water up, removed the pot from the heat, and let the zip lock bag full of concoction sit in the hot water. I shook up the bag and applied the concoction to my hair, covered with a shower cap, and layered with a towel. I'm gonna let it sit for an hour. Any other ways you heat activate conditioners without appliances?

Someone mentioned in an earlier post about using a wet towel to get a steam effect. Mind elaborating????

I am always multi-tasking... I needed to heat my conditioner on my head, but I had work to do also... So I put on my plastic cap... put a damp towel in the micro wave to get hot, put in on, then put on another plastic cap... THEN, I went in my closet found the heaviest winter fur hat and put it on to keep the heat on my hair... Trust me it looked funny...I stayed in the house though... My hubby just looked at me and said "another hair thing, I know"... He is so understanding, I LOVE him....

But that works... and when the towel cools down, I just zap it again in the micro put it on my head again....

You can do the opposite of what you've already done...heat the towel with hot water then put it on your head and cover it with a plastic bag or plastic cap.............macherieamour has a video tutorial in her blog hope she doesn't mind that I'm posting the link http://www.healthytextures.com

Why is everyone else afraid to use a hood dryer for deep conditioning treatments.

OP: I use a hot wet towel for my prepoo hot oil treatments. It's so relaxing. I let the H2O get steaming hot and then put a hand towel under the water. Then, I wring it out and put it on my head really fast. Wow! Heavenly.

Same here so let's keep the suggestions coming... I normally heat my products first then apply and use two plastic caps and a towel to to cover...

I soak a hand towel and microwave it until it's so hot I can barely touch it. I carefully wrap that around my hair then put a bath towel over it. It takes about 20 minutes to cool down.

I used a hot turban yesterday (soaked it in hot running water). Then placed a plastic cap on top of it during my pre-poo. I was surprised by how long it stayed warm under the plastic cap.

For my deep condition I used my old bonnet styled dryer so I could relax and get an hour deep condition w/ heat.

I don't like to use my Pibbs dryer for conditioning simply b/c it uses up more energy and I can't lounge in the bed or on the sofa while conditioning.
