Household products with different uses

Recently, my cousin told me that if you wash your hair with mouthwash, it can get rid of dandruff. I asked her if it works but she said she's scared to try it and I don't have dandruff so there's no point in me trying.
Has anyone tried it?

She also said that fabric softener can be used as a hair conditioner :perplexed but again she's too scared to be a guinea pig (and so am I to be honest). Any users?

I asked her where she's getting her info from she said she got it from this website:

www.wackyuses.com

This website gives alternative uses for household products. Most of the uses are non-hair uses but there are a few for hair.

Apart from what's listed on the website, what other houeshold goods do you use on your hair and what are the results?

I've heard of the fabric softener thing, but I wouldn't try it. I've also heard that washing your wigs with it will get rid of the fake shine that some wigs have.

I heard YT people using fabric softener in their hair if they regular conditioner is unavailable - it is supposed to help with tangling and static

I will NEVER know...

I can see myself having a major break out from fabric softener. I don't even use that in my clothes.

I was thinking that but then again I noticed that quite a few of us have adopted practices in our HHJs that may been seen as something that YT people do. E.g. Washing the hair every few days or using YT hair products. JMO.

I guess you're right, we'll never find out because I'm scared to try lol.

A friend of mine told me that her mother used to use fabric softener to detangle her and her sister's hair when she was younger. She said it works like a charm and she still uses it to this day. I have not tried it.

could you imagine putting Suavitel in your hair.. Your hair would smell like laundry for 2 weeks.. that stuff is strong!!! LOL
