I wanted to know if any utilize hot oil treatments. if so, what oil(s) do u use and your regime? Also, what are the benefits of a hot oil treatment vs. a deep conditioner?

Hot oil treatment = virgin extra olive oil
Deep Conditioner = elasta qp dpr 11

I also use extra virgin olive oil for hot oil treatments. This keeps the moisture on my scalp balanced. I don't have to oil my scalp until the next hot oil treatment. The deep conditioner keeps my hair moisturized. I'm careful not to put conditioner on my scalp. In my experience, its led to product buildup on my scalp that looks like dandruff. I use lekair cholesterol for deep conditioning.

I agree. I also think hot oil treatments really does a really fine job of protecting hair and repairing damage. Deep conditioners bring it home by replenishing moisture and detangling hair. Combined together u get a very nice effect.

Thanks everyone. next I was my hair I will try the extra virgin olive oil for a hot oil treatment, and follow it up with a deep conditioner. Also, do u give your hair one last wash before deep conditioning, or do u move to conditioning immediately after the hot oil treatment?

This is how I normally do it:
1. Hot oil treatment (30 min.)
2. Shampoo twice
3. Deep Condition (30 min. - hour)
4. Rinse

I do the same thing, but I only shampoo my scalp and only once.
