Hot Comb/pressing Comb And Grease Question

When using a hot comb via the stove or oven, do you have to use grease? or can you use the current heat protectants on the market?

I would use the heat protectant. Heat protectants are a 2 in 1-grease(moisture) and protection from the heat. Grease is just grease and will just give you moisture but no heat protection I believe.

I would use some sort of pressing cream. Keracare has a nice one, Silk Element’s Leave-in cream is good too.

No much much lighter. Design Essentials makes a cream protectant from their Lavender line. I use a pressing comb on my new growth at times, or use these products to flat iron. Just lightly apply.

I love to press my hair with a pressing comb but I no longer have access to a gas stove. I have a stove for a pressing comb, but every time I plug it in, it shuts down my electricity.

With a pressing comb, you can use a heat protectant as long as it does not go on WET! If it goes on wet and you press right after that, the hair will fry and burn. It's okay to use a wet heat protectant during the blow dry stage.

Reniece suggested that I use Vitapoint, which is a cream press, when pressing my hair. I like it and my hair gets straight with it. If I want lots of body and movement, I can't put anything in my hair, not even a heat protectant.

Love Vitapoint, I used to use it all the time when I was relaxed. Haven't used it as a natural but it made my hair shiny and it pressed easily. I used to use an electric oven when I was relaxed.
