Hot Comb Alopecia??

It's my theory, but I don't know anyone who had an official diagnosis from a dermatologist. I think an unguarded hot metal tool passing that close to your scalp can kill follicles - if you do it too often. But I also believe the same thing about extra hot hair dryers.

ive never seen it but its real and it can come from any hot tool coming in contract from the scalp. i am very careful when i use my hotcomb.

Per my derm, I've learned that it comes from the grease/hot oil that falls from the hot comb to your scalp, causing follicle damage.
