Horsetail?

Has anyone taken this supplement before? The lady at GNC recommended it to go along with my hair, skin and nails.

I was going to ask the same question.
I went to the Vitamin Shoppe today and asked about MSM. THe guy told me that it's good for flexibility joints etc, just like HOrsetail. Apparently they do the same thing.

I have heard good things about it as far as promoting hair growth...just like Biotin and MSM. I take horsetail oil...although I also read that the horsetail pills have nicotine in them which I don't know if that's true or not..I don't think that is a good thing.

Years ago, someone told me about this...this is before I knew anything about good hair care and my hair wold only reach above chin length. I do so many things to care for my hair I don't know if I would consider this at this stage of the game.

I read somewhere if you take horsetail be sure to drink a lot water and take it for weeks--then skip a week before taking it again. I'll see if I can find the link.

yes ive been taking horsetail with biotin since i started taking vitamins whish is like nearly 2 years ago. i take the one from vitamin world which is500mg. i think the one from GNC is only 25mg or something. which is like the highest they have. i think its also known as silica. puritans pride has one for 440MG and silica which contains 100% horsetail that is 500MG

I've used it but I haven't been consistent so I can't really tell if it helped my hair. I believe Reniece used the GNC Horsetail pills as a part of her regimen to grow her hair out with weaves.

I have the GNC version and it has 500mg. The saleswoman said it was silica so I'm hoping it will aide in my growth because I cut about two inches and miss the length

I have silica but havent used it consistently....i also have horsetail but when i would use it i would always start itching...so i had to stop taking it...ive been slacking on taking all vitamins lately....

I take Biosil and I have been for about 7 months now. I chose it because I wanted to take Horsetail. After doing my research, Biosil apparently is more effective than Horsetail. As they claim, "BioSil is a biologically active form of silicon which is 20 times more easily absorbed than the silica found in the horsetail plant & colloidal gels."

I am not sure how much it has benefited my hair but I am going to keep taking it. I have also read that you have to take it for a while (6 months or so) to really see benefits. I am not sure how true that is, but I have also read that about other supplements, as well.

Do you mean that your scalp was itching or another part bof the body? Do you think it was the hair growth?

I've been taking GNC's Horsetail for about 4mths. I haven't been impressed with it at all. I'm just taking it to finish the bottle but I most likely will not repurchase.

How many mg were u taking? I started taking the pp's super biotin from purtians pride and horsetail and i started itching like hell all over my body for about two weeks. It jus stopped the other day, cuz i stopped taking it. Maybe it was the horsetail and not the biotin?

no my body was itching it actually sometimes felt like something would be crawling on my skin....

i cant find the bottle right now of how many mgs were that i was taking....i know i was only taking 1 one a day....but i had to stop...yeah it may have been the horsetail...i never had any problems with biotin...and i wldnt take that much of biotin anyway to make a big difference....

Yes ,I've tried GNC's fingerprinted Horsetail because of someones results on this forum I want to say it was Reniece or Bree. I can't remember who, but they say they've also taken HF37 but saw quick results w/ horsetail.
Well I'm not sure how fast( but before I finished the bottle I did notice new growth. Around front, there was mega waves(new growth) I liked the new growth but alittle too quick cause I couldn't enjoy relaxer long enough to wear my hair in roller sets for bodywraps and had to go back to my all time favorite ponytails. I was also taking some of the same vitamins alot of ladies are taking before adding horsetail and feel it really did help in growth. I know before stopping I had taken 2 bottles 500 mgs. I will most definately start back. At one time I was wanting to try silica because of raves,but lady in GNC said I could continue horsetail because they were pretty much the same thing cept Horsetail is a herb.Now I did notice the silica was 11mg and the on the box @ GNC I think it also said it comes from horsetail ( words may not be exact but similar). just my 2 cents in it. Sorry sooo long.

The glass bottle I believe said to take 2 with water 3 xs or day or something like that. I remember it was too many pills for me to remember to take throughout the course of the day so I was just taking 3 in the morning. But the new plastic bottle has a different image on the front and just says to take 1. Is the dosage different? I dont have both bottles here to compare. I'm gonna try to get back on the vitamin wagon.

Yea they did changed the bottle and I thought the old one was 2 pills a day,Oops thats all I was taking. But the fingerprint bottle now says to take 1 pill is it a day or 3x a day. I only took it 1x ,but they both had 500 mgs.

Okay so now im confused... Sitting here comparing the old and new bottles. They both are 500 mgs, but the old one days "As a dietary supplement, take two capsules three times daily with water." and that the serving size is one caspule. The new bottle says "As a dietary supplement, take one capsule daily." What gives? Does that strike anyone else as weird?

I just purchased GNC fingerprint horsetail pills yesterday, to go along with my vitamin regimine and MTG...Hopefully I will see some nice results.

I am taking a Silica complex with 500mg Horsetail extract.
I think it is making my hair grow faster. My nails and eyebrows are definitely growing faster
I think it's making my skin worse though, which is weird as it makes most people's skin better.
