Horrific hair loss: warning pic may be disturbing!

Some things should performed by a professional! I hope she gets under a dermatologist ASAP; then sue her for the MAX in small claims.

There is no proof that the stylist did anything. It was a net weave. All sorts of crap can get under a net and be trapped there. Did she go swimming at a lake or river or something? True enough, her cornrows may have been too tight but can she prove it? It's going to be a your word against mine type of case.

You get what you pay for, I would never pay $60 for a weave. People side eye me cause I have been going to upscale salons for years but I get what I want and am outta there in 2hrs or less. Also GoldenRule is correct many don't do proper maintenance & care once they get home. Was it too tight? Was the salon & were the styling tools dirty? Did she leave it in too long? I ask did she leave it too long cause I'm sure she had side effects/ sypmtoms before the 2 wks of taking it out? Why would you let someone install braids or weave too tight? I have so many questions.

It wasn't a salon, it was at persons house & it doesn't say the person was a licensed hairstylist.

To save a buck she went to an unlicensed kitchen beautician then when her hair got jacked up she went to a professional stylist for help...

This one of the reasons why I'm so thankful that I made the decision to lock my hair and do my own maintenance. I'm almost terrified to let another living soul (stylist) put their hands in my hair.

Let's see: She didn't wash it or dry her hair properly with the weave in . That's all I got. It's not the person or stylist's fault that she was lazy maintaining it.

How did it get to this point? Wasn't it itching? Wasn't it feeling uncomfortable? You don't just wake up one morning with a bleeding scalp. She ignored the symptoms prior to that and instead of taking it out, she was probably patting her head thinking she could wait it out. If she had removed it at the first signs of discomfort, she would not be in this position now.

Bad decisions all around.

...yeah I'm going to pass looking at the pic. You had me at "bleeding"..

..hope her hair grows back healthy

I got a horrible weave done last year. I took that thing out in less than a week because I was sure alopecia would have been the end result. Don't know how she managed to go 2 weeks before realising something was wrong.

I wonder if the service included a shampoo. Did the client start this service with clean hair and scalp? If not, then there could be all kinds of counterclaims in this suit.

I find it hard to believe that she just "woke up with" a bloody pillowcase, unless she had some really rough sex the night before.

Even if the lady hadn't washed the combs, you mean to tell me that this girl couldn't FEEL something was developing until she saw blood on her pillow? Was she just grinning and bearing the tight weave? She can grow that hair back, it's not impossible, but it will depend upon the person. Some scars are permanent. But she should visit a hair loss specialist after her derm treatment is over. I can't believe you can't feel that something is seriously wrong.

Maybe people ought consider virgin hair only? No chemicals.

Oh Nooo
That scares me
I do trust the person that installs my weaves

I just don't understand how it can cause that. I'm so confused. How can she sleep if it's so tight to cause scalp issues.

Dirty utensils? Even if she didn't wash it in those two weeks. ....is that enough to cause it.

I have so many questions. Gosh this is so scary.

Could have been the hair also. Don't know where that hair came from. Maybe it would have helped if she washed the weave hair first. Idk.

I can't believe she got an infection and had pus and scabs OVERNIGHT!!! You CANT wake up and just be bleeding with pus and scabs!!!

She had PLENTY of warning signs!!!

Even though I was the one that posted this thread that scarred scalp makes me wanna puke at the very thought of it. It's extremely unpleasant.
