this weekend! I'm a little sad but it served me well for 4.5 years so I'm not too upset. I'm in the market for a new one, preferable with Ion/ceramic technology--any suggestions?

I love the one I just got...though it doesn't have a cool setting or anything...just high and low. Bree turned me on to it: the Jilbere ProStyle 1875. My results from it are fabulous; but I like a hot dryer, otherwise it would take forever for my hair to dry. My old one compared to this wasn't very hot, which is probably why it took 3 hours as opposed to 1.5 with the new dryer. I don't think this one has any ion or ceramic technology in it, but my rollerset came out pretty smooth (pics in album). Matter of fact, I'm sitting under it right now, lol. It's a little on the addictive side  HTH

Hugs,
Crys

I mentioned in another thread that I have to "upgrade" to a wider hood dryer and am in the market . . I'm looking at the Belson 1600-Watt Ionic Hard Bonnet Dryer (SKU JD-BE-GH1050) priced from as low $39.99 at www.texasbeautysupplies.com to as high as $59.99 at www.imagesupplyhouse.com. I hope this link to texas beauty works:
http://www.texasbeautysupplies.com/begohot16hab.html. Three things got me look at this:

1. cool setting
2. oversize hood (so that I can do gray instead of purple rollers!)
3. ionic
4. price, okay 4 things.

I haven't used but am looking around locally to see if I go check it out "in person". Just a though since you mentioned a "cool" setting.

BTW: if anyone has this, PLEASE post a review. . .

very nice! where did you buy it and how much did it cost?

It was around 40 bucks I think, and I bought it at a beauty supply store around me that sells professional salon products. You can get it at Sally's, but the one close to me was out of stock, and I needed to do my hair THAT day, lol! I think it dries so quickly because it has 1875 watts, a lot more than other hood dryers. And, it's oversize...I use purple rollers and have more than plenty of room to spare :)

I'm sorry (Pibbs/Parlux) that you dryer broke (Pibbs/Parlux) :(
(Pibbs/Parlux) but there are so many really good ones available (Pibbs/Parlux)...not that I'm biased (Pibbs/Parlux)

Seriously, I know how you feel without your tools, so I hope you get an acceptable replacement quickly.

I have an Ion Ionic Hard Hat Dryer that I bought at Sally's just last month. Works extremely well! I never thought I would find a replacement for my Lady Dazey that broke after falling off of my kitchen table.

The Ion Dryer was on sale I think with my discount it just came to like $39.00 the regular price doesn't run over $50 though.

You bet! I might just buy before my next wash (in a few days) along with some grey rollers. I'm really exited about needing larger rollers -- I know I know, need to get a life . . .

That would be it, Isis! :)

The high setting really is HIGH ladies! I can't take it, of course I do for a little while to speed up the drying, but, the medium works well and gets your hair dry too all over. I know some dryers leave you with damp areas not with this one.

Hope you like it!

Hey Pretty, have you tried the "cool" setting yet?

I'm sitting under my dryer right now too. :D I have a Dazey Natural Wonder Hooded Dryer (1100 watts). It has a cool, low, medium and high setting. It works great. It's an oldie but goodie (purchased in 1989).

I cant stand it either, I find it to be so loud and it blew the power out in my apartment building TWICE!

I had the hot gold one. It's in Louisiana. My sister in law is probably using it right now. I have the Ion Ionic Dryer. I can only get in it with my grey rollers. I'm going to try the black rollers and see what happens. I really want the Pibbs dryer but it's going to take me 6 months to save up that money. I refuse to put in on a credit card since my credit card diet.

So I'm going to have to use this for a while. It does get hot though. I do like that. It still takes me an hour and a half to dry though.
