Yes it has been true for me, I had kept wondering why my hair was getting lighter, but once I left the honey alone my hair stayed Black, but I heard that you can substitute Molasses for the honey and it will help to keep your hair dark & shiny.

NP.. it was from your thread that I got the idea. How did you use the honey to get it to make your hair lighter?

I was using Honey that I bought from the Farmers market and I was using it everytime I did a conditioner wash because it made my hair soft & shiny and I would use it in my daily spritz, I would use it in my deep conditioners, and I used it just about everyday and my Almost Jet Black hair was Turning a Light Brown and I was like "why is my hair turning brown" then I was on Nappturality and was reading some comments about it and then that is when I decided to stop using the Honey, I had to cut my hair back down to the Black and start from there, and since then my hair has been black every since.

I mean I was so addicted to Honey, Sometimes I would just smear it on my hair as a Pre treatment with Olive oil.

I think honey did change my hair color a little. I started getting red tones in my hair especially on the ends. Tonight I brewed some coffee spritzed it on my dry hair and followed it with a pre poo made up of condish and some molasses. My hair is still damp since washing, but it seem like this "treatment" did help darken my hair a bit in a totally natural way.

In pre-poos and deep conditioning treatments, I believe gradually over time honey may have added some red tones to my hair. :scratchch
