it went from my grandmother doing all the cooking....straight down to the grandkids

our parents (my mother, aunts, uncles, etc) aint never cooked a damn thing for the holidays lol

my mother said yesterday "im glad these young folk can take over this cooking!"

so i jokingly say "what did YOU contribute to this meal?!" and she says "well, i had you and you cooked some of this food...there ya go!"

and we just cracked up.

anyway....random moment sharing.

OMG! ^^^^^this is my family too!

i cooked a 5 course meal for my parents and in laws & friends AND cleaned all the dishes by myself while they watched and talked about years past......

it TOTALLY skipped from my Nana to ME! WTH?!!!

me and a lot of my cousins do all of the cooking now. so unlike when my grandmother did it, we all contribute so one person isnt doing EVERYTHING...when she was doing it, she did almost 100% of it by herself. we eventually started to help her out by cooking parts of it and now, we've pretty much taken over and she doesnt do anything.

the holidays are the only time i feel like cooking anymore lol...i need to do better.

i totally JUST realized i didnt post this where i wanted it.

was supposed to be in off topic...feel free to move it!

it's the other way around with my family. nobody from my generation cooked anything and was house hopping. but cooked and had family over for thanksgiving one time. that was a big hassle. but i may put out more of an effort next year, since my own family is growing. gotta start setting traditions for my babies and future grandbabies.
