Idk if there is a post about this already. Was in my cabinet looking for something to eat and i stumble upon mayonnaise with olive oil. I began to think hmmmm can thus be beneficial to my hair? Especially since my hair can be very dry. The fact that it has olive oil make me want to try it. I have never used actual food mayonnaise only ORS. Has anyone ever used this? Am I late? if anyone has used it how did you use it? Were you satisfied?

What do you ladies think about this? Would you try it?

In my transitioning days, I mixed mayonnaise with olive oil and an egg. It worked out really well for me as a deep conditioner. :)

That's great! I may give this a go :)

That is a great mayo product for hair treatments b/c the first ingredients are egg and oil and NOT vinegar like some imitation mayos . I used to use 1 c mayo, 1 egg, 2 Tbsp olive oil as a DC. It was great! I'm just too lazy for all of that now. :look:

Lolll your right. It sounds good! I needa try! I'm sure the spell wouldn't be too pleasant tho

back in the day my mother used to put this in my hair. She used to do beer rinses in my hair as well. Haven't done it as an adult just because if I want protein I just use an egg or a protein treatment.

Just curious do you dry DC with this before and shampoo it out? Kind of like a pre-poo? Or do you DC with this after washing your hair all clean and whatnot? I can't imagine the latter because of the stink smell lol. Also, do you HAVE to use EVOO or can you use another oil like Safflower/Sunflower oil? Don't mean to hijack the thread but since we're already talking about mayo mixes for DCs, it just makes sense to ask here instead of making a whole new thread.

Last week I used mayo, egg, gpb as a protein treat..then AOWC w wgo as a moist dc. Works well. No after smell.

I used Hellmann's 'half fat' Mayo (w/o olive oil) on my DD's hair and it worked GREAT!!! I was very satisfied with it, her hair was very soft afterwards and minimal ssks. The jar I used had been sitting in the kitchen for a while, but was still within it's used by date. I must have picked up the 1/2 fat one by mistake. I didn't use heat with it, I just put a shower cap on her head after I'd finished applying it and she went to play for about 30mins, I then washed it out.
I bought 2 more jars at the weekend, this time full fat and I'm going to use it on my own hair during the week - possibly on Wednesday after I take down my current weave.

I have a small jar of that same mayo with olive oil at my house. Since I rarely cook with or eat mayo, I was thinking about using it for a DC...

Awww that's good to hear! Hmm I wonder if there would be much difference in results with more fat. I'm gonna try!
