2009 Transitioners Support Thread

Also if you go to google and type in: transition site:longhaircareforum.com it will pull up many many many threads for you. Also try words like "transitioners" "transitioning" "going natural" etc.

I've never transitioned but from reading on here it seems that transitioners should:
1. Keep their new growth moisturized and detangled. (apply your dc like a relaxer and make sure you're using a good moisturizer)
2. Keep the line of demarcation strong so that their relaxed hair doesn't break off.

use a lot of natural products! I have a LHCF blog on keeping curly hair fabulous ;)

btw you can still use heat while transitioning. just don't go overboard, and do not get a relaxer.

As msa suggested, check out the Transitioner's Support Thread - I love it!

It all depends on how you want to transition and the thread has a mix of people.
Those transitioning -
1. Using heat (successfully)
2. Braids/Twists with Extensions, weaves or wigs
3. No heat, no extensions, weaves - me :-).

My siggy shows my main three transition styles. Check out my fotki if you are interested :-)

Good luck and HHG!
