Highlights for Texlaxed Hair?

I am thinking about highlighting my hair, but it is texlaxed and I don't want to damage it. Does anyone have any ideas about what kind of product I could use that won't be damaging? I was thinking about using a product like Colorshowers and just painting it on where I want the highlights. TIA!
