I have been on lurk mode for several months. But just I am here everyday for hair inspiration, motivation to take my vits. I am ready for a change.
I wear my hair pressed (and when that "reverts" it's in an updo) I want to high light the front only pretty dramatically. I have dark brown hair and I want golden/light brn. high light. Is this going to break me off? Also my stylist says she uses peroxide and not bleach. But a stylist will tell you anything. Is there a difference? Is this a really bad idea? I have never colored before... Please I need some tips before next Tuesday...

You shouldn't use peroxide or bleach. Try Avlon powdered hair lightner it is made specifically to lighten african american hair without harsh chemicals and to add moisture.
