Has anyone dyed their hair using hibiscus? Or hibiscus and henna to achieve a red color on darker hair?

I've used henna alone....but over time it deposits the red tint, so it's very subtle. Hmmm....I wonder about infusing the hibiscus into acv and making the henna with that. eh? eh? I did the hibiscus infused acv to use after my shampoo bars and it's the acv is very red.

I've used both elderberries and hibiscus in my henna blends to deepen the red deposits.
Currently I use hibiscus powder for It's conditioning properties and make a tea
with the hibiscus flower (and other herbs) for my water base for the henna mixture.

Thanks ladies. I'm going red this year one way or another.

I use hibiscus in my conditioners every week - it seems to leave my hair softer and silkier and sooo moist. I haven't noticed any additional red, yet...

Oooh please share how you do this?

I just add a teaspoon of the powder right to my conditioner. I let it sit for a little while to dissolve, and then slather on. It's really nice. :yep:

Oooh you got me thinking.... you could make a nice deep red henna mixture with hibiscus powder, rose powder, rakta chandana (red sandlewood) powder, elderberry powder and mix with blueberry herbal tea (water comes out red) for staining, which you can buy at any supermarket.

I might try this myself.
