Hi, I have been lurking around for about 3 months and decided to purchase full membership. I have received a lot of good tips but have one major problem, I do not know how to do my own hair, I have tried and it looks a hot mess when I do it. After washing it is very tangle, I don't know what to do with it, I am transitioning last perm was in Aug 2008. Thinking about perming because of the hair being hard to manage, I am at nape length, someone please help. Thank you.

Well, welcome!!!!!!! Ok, so how are you washing your hair, what do you use, what kind of relaxer to do use? What kind of style are you going for? Do you moisturize, pre-poo, deep conditioner, etc?

Welcome!

Are you not interested in doing the BC?

6-7 months was the hardest part of the transition for me. Are you deep conditioning regularly? How are you styling your hair? Have you upped the moisture?

For tangles, I'd say use a wide tooth comb while in the shower with conditioner slathered on.

Good Luck!

Hi and welcome.
I'll just say read and read some more around here. Chances are you have a "hair twin" around somewhere having the same problems and you'll find lots of great tips.
The 1st time I did a co-wash was when I started reading here at LHCF. It changed my life!:lick: You'll have a "ah ha" moment like that any day now!

Welcome aboard! There are a ton of naturals and transitioners around here who can help you with this. As lexi84 and joytimes10 have already said, there's some great advice here already, and there are plenty of previous threads that can help. Best of luck on your journey; we're all here for you. I was a long-time lurker here, myself, and it's definitely been worth the membership fee!
