I think the last time I posted here it was before the end of the year. It's been a while. Anyway, I wanted to drop in and say a belated Happy New Year (and early Happy Valentine's Day) to each and every one of you here. In case some of you don't remember, I attempted to transition w/o a BC and finally went back to relaxing before the end of the year. My hair is doing well; it seems to be thicker and not breaking like it was before, and its growing. I wash more frequently 2-3 days a week with my workout schedule (sometimes more if I sweat more). I use what many may find to be a no-no...Suave Tropical Coconut shampoo and conditioner. I remember using Suave at the recommendation of one of my first stylists, only to change it when another stylist chastised me for using that "white people's shampoo". My hair was in the best shape when I used Suave, so I went back to using it. It works for me, so I'm sticking with it. My hair's not long enough for a ponytail yet, so I actually style it and wear it in a just below chin-length bob.
My attempt to go natural was a real education and an experience for which I have no regrets. I learned a lot about my hair, particularly the fact that whether your hair is relaxed or natural, keeping in good form takes time, patience and TLC. I may go natural some day in the not-too-distant future; I'll know when the time is right.
