Good Afternoon,

I have an announcement. I officially don't care. My gibbadamn has been busted.

I realized this this morning as I pulled my hair into a messy lopsided puff as I set out for my morning walk and dared somebody to say something.

Right now, my hair looks like Toni Morrison and Frederick Douglas are fighting for scalp supremacy. Fred is winning; 3/4 of my hair looks like his. The remaining 1/4 are nearly 3 month old twists/ wannabe locks that I've been slowly taking down over the past few weeks. It will probably be 2 more weeks before they are taken down. I've even discussed the possibility of cutting my hair to dh. I'm just so over it. I'm trying not to do anything rash, but my hair is getting on my last nerve. These days, I manage to moisturize it just enough to keep it from snapping off in my hands.

Lately, having to do anything to it makes me want to run for the hills. Tragic, since I live in a state with nary a hill to be found.

How can I get my hair groove back? I'm thinking it may mean not being a DIYer for awhile.

I say braid it up, weave it up, wig it up or go to someone you trust and let them deal with it for awhile.

I know that feeling. I call it DIY'er burnout. I went through the same thing earlier this year. I'm now taking a new approach to my hair that means my hands are out of it most days of the week, and that's better for me.

I was on my way to big chop town, before going back to a stylist.

Yeah. I think that's what it boils down to for me. Eventually, I'll work my way over to the salon where dh gets his hair cut; they did a nice job on dd a few months ago.
