Awe I'm sorry, my hair has thinned out to as you can see in my fotki. Do you know what caused yours?

sorry to hear this:sad:....what do u think could have caused it?

I stretch my relaxers out so my hair can have a chance to thicken back up especially around the front hairline where it is most fragile.

I think a majority of the reason is from Post Partum Shedding ..

To me it just looks thin towards the ends ..

I was really thinking about cutting it to like super shoulder length

I will wait until I relax to make up my mind..

Yea mine is from post partum, I just started taking biotin with hopes to thicken it back up a bit

Khandi, I don't see a difference at all :nono:

The third picture you posted could seem like its thinner, but you can tell it isn't because you've parted your hair differently here.
The first picture shows a middle parting with 2 knots and the second and third show no middle parting but 3 knots.
I'm sure if you put your hair in the exact same sections as in your first picture, there would be no difference.

Also, I find my hair appears thinner just before it needs to be texturised.

Hope this cheers you up!

Love ya!!!

I'm sorry. I can't really tell that it thinned out much b/c of the angles but I know we know our own heads. I say don't cut it. Just keep trying protective styles until your next relaxer and see if that helps. There's always MTG! I don't use it religously but it helped thicken up my BFF's hair. Or maybe it was the African Virgin Hair Fertilizer (smells like peppermint). Cause she used them both at the same time and she used to have naturally thinner hair. I need to start using that stuff again myself.

I really don't see it either. But, I know how it feels, because I feel that my hair has SERIOUSLY thinned out, but others don't.

Nobody ever see's what I see

I can def tell a difference.. My ahir used to be so thick..

lol..

Imma try not to cut it, I always get scissor happy right around 8 weeks post LOL

That's what I thought as well.

I can't really tell Khandi, but I take your word for it. If it is postpartum shedding, all you really need is time and your vitamins. Don't cut yet...just stick it out a few months longer and see if you see a change.

I honestly cannot tell, either, sweetie. What I can tell is that your hair looks pretty darn thick to me. I love the bantu knots. I wish I knew how to do them. It would be a nice way to take a break from the rollersets and over-manipulation for a minute.

Funny I was complaining of something similar just yesterday for me. Maybe it's something in the air, or water? Something is really going on.....

I don't see any thinning....am I missing something??

I don't see anything either, but then again I don't know much about hair. I think it might look thinner (at least in the roots) b/c in the after pic's you have a lot of new growth where as the before pic looks freshly relaxed. I know when I have alot of new growth I look practically bald headed b/c the curls tend to kind of group together so it makes parted areas look wider. I seriously thought my hair was falling out, I dont know why b/c my shedding was normal but like I said I don't know much about hair, lol does this make any sense or am I just rally crazy and my hair is actually falling out, lol

Well, I will be the voice of dissention, and concur with KhandiB. I do see a difference in hair thickness between her before and after pictures. Her ends have thinned. I will dissent even further by saying that trimming the ends may be the best thing. I don't believe in hanging onto damaged ends for the sake of retaining length. Once the ends are damaged, they cannot be saved, anyway, unfortunately.

I believe that in matters of one's own hair, one should follow her own instincts, because they are usually on-point.

I'm sure you know your hair better than we do so I trust what you say.
Have we not yet found a solution to the dreaded postpartum shedding :wallbash:

Hm, Im sorry but I don't see any thinning.... what I do see however is tons of healthy looking new growth...

Which is a 100% good thing. I don't think you should cut your hair! I think you might want to get your ends dusted a little... but thats it.

DONT cut it

P.S. if you've got a ton of new growth... Ive noticed that this can sometime make the rest of my relaxed hair feel thin in comparison to the thick healthy new growth. It all goes back to normal when I relax it however... maybe this is the problem?

I don't see any thinning either:nono:... If you think it is... Try some BT... But Please DO NOT CUT IT....

This is exacty what I was thinking. How long ago did you have your baby? I concerned because I had my daughter almost 7 months ago and besides the shedding from a scalp infection, I haven't experience the big time postpartum shedding:perplexed Have you been tested recently for your iron levels?

Good luck with everything:yep:

Now I know who to do bantus:yay:
