Henna

As long as its BAQ (Body Art Quality) henna, then yes, you should be fine. I'd still do a strand test, to be on the safe side.

I thought I saw here that you could not put it on colored hair, I hope not because I am not ready to go grey.

There are two kinds of henna.

BAQ Henna is pure plant - nothing but henna - it's often called Mehendi.

Compound Henna, on the other hand, has metallic salts and other things in it to make the henna work 'better', I suppose. :nono:

Using compund henna on previously colored hair is an open invitation to baldness. Using BAQ henna, on the other hand - is fine. I used BAQ henna over my bleached AND dyed hair - and it saved my ends.

You just have to be certain of your henna source. I'd suggest FromNatureWithLove - but that's just because I personally love their henna. There are several other safe/reliable online vendors, as well.

Thanks so much, I have a hard time getting replies here. I am going to the Dallas area thjis wkd so I'm going to chk out some Indian stores.

I agree, yes you can. I have done it several times. I just like henna for conditioning, but I don't like the brownish tint. I cover it with Bigen (and most recently Robert Craig)
