For those that have tried both, is there one that you prefer over the other or do you like them both for various reasons?

I would also like to know which one is better. I have tried only Cassia which I like but I'm wondering if henna is better. I'm only afraid to try it because i don't want any color changes.

Cassia cannot be compared to henna. Henna is the real deal. I thought I was getting the benefit of Cassia but when I tried the henna, I have not looked back since. I sometimes mix the cassia and henna together.

I prefer Cassia to Henna. I found the Cassia thickened my hair and left it strong but not dry. I found Henna to be a little drying and a lot messier than the Cassia.

This site has great definitions of both. From what I understand Cassia is for shine and Henna is for color, shine, and strength....HTH:look:

Thanks trimbride. I already read through every link on this site before posting this question. I ordered their samples just to test it on my hair before going through with the complete process. I just wanted to hear about some personal experiences from those that had tried both.

I use both cassia and henna. Currently, I alternate weekly between both. Really like what they've done for my hair in terms of conditioning, strengthening and adding shine. Love the henna color :)

I've tried henna and cassia - my hair laughed at Cassia - I didn't see any change. Henna on the other hand - is the real deal.

But each head is different - try it out, and see what you think!

I was wondering the same thing. I ordered samples from hennaforhair.com. I'm afraid to use the henna. :look: Is there a way you can use henna for strength & shine without changing your haircolor?

Cassia is great for me but only if I use heat. It does not work as well if I don't sit under the dryer.

I want to know this too because I have color that I love but Henna seems to be great for the hair. Can someone please PM me if you can answer this question.

Thanks,

Well, I suppose you could let the henna lose its "color power" by mixing it 3-4 days in advance of application. This would still be great for conditioning but you would've lost ALOT of the coloring effect.

Check out this dye release chart: http://www.hennapage.com/henna/how/dyerelease.html

That's the main reason why I don't want to use henna. I love the results that it can have on your hair, but I don't want my hair color changing. I don't want to use the indigo and make my hair black and I don't want to risk trying to mix things myself and coming out with a color I don't like. Hence, for now it's cassia for me.
