Your hair looks amazing! When I see results like this, I am so inspired to continue on my hair journey. All my ayurvedic ladies, thank you for helping me see that the proof is in the pic, and there's no denying that your hair is fuller, and your ends look amazing! You're on the right track. Awesome progress, Pet! I saw your henna reggie, now what kind of deep conditioning do you do following the henna treatment?
Now let me go back and look at the "after" picture one more time!...........

simply freakin amazing! I was thinking about adding henna to my other ayurvedic oils and powders but this has truly convinced me to go ahead and take the plunge!

wonderful progress!!!! thanks so much for sharing!

WOW:) Beautiful, thick ends. This is so where i want my ends to be.

Question...

So, do you put shikaki powder inside the oil and use that for your ends?
Sorry, I'm a little confused.

Wow thick and long is my goal and I think I will use Henna this weekend. great pics

Yodie,

I got the impression that she was oiled and pre-pooed with Shikakai, and hennaed on a regular basis. the post is old, but I though it was good info - hence the bump.

I love shikakai oil!! I'm using shikakai oil and I noticed that my hair is darker, shinier, more moisturized and thicker. I love it!!!!!!!!!!

Your hair is lovely!
I can't wait till I
start using henna!

:yep:

I think that henna may have a different result on relaxed or natural hair.

I remember henna'ing my hair years ago when I was relaxed, well it was a dry disaster.

Now that I've been natural for almost 5 years, I had to find something so that I can stop using chemical dye in my hair which severely dried out my hair to the point where I was thinking of cutting off my APL natural hair and starting over. Thankfully, I ran into the henna threads here and I decided to try that.

My hair is not dry at all and it's very flexible, strong, moisturized and I love it. I also find that I can easily detangle my hair just using the Goody therapy & shine brush.

I washed the henna out with a Suave conditioner (of course, along with the running water of the shower ) but other than that I haven't even DC yet. I'm going to make henna a regular part of my routine now. Hoping that it will help me to retain my length and stop the breakage I was having.

ITA with this post. I do a moisture DC after my henna to be safe but my natural hair :love2: henna!

That's all the convincing I need I'm definely jumping on the Ayurveda hair program. Although I'm still a little scared of henna after my 95' mishap but with the knowledge I've been gaining on this board my fears are slowly going away.

You sure it isn't just that you cut your hair? Your hair appears to be shorter in the second pic.

Please where can you find this combination henna/shikakai oil, i'm new here and very confused at the moment ;-(

You can order the shikakai oil from hairveda, you may want wait awhile cuz I think the company may still be trying to process their Black Friday orders. Here's the link http://hairveda.com/oils.aspx I may order after the new year.

I ordered henna the other day from http://www.mehandi.com/shop/hairhenna.html I'll be doing henna next weekend.

Your hair looks great! I'm going to have to get back to using henna myself

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to show some progress pics on the thickening up of my ends. This is my goal before achieving longer hair. I was very shocked when I looked in the mirror today! I had to look twice!!...lol

The before picture (I'm wearing Green) was taken around Febuary, and the after picture (I'm wearing purple) was taken after I pressed my hair today. My mom did the trim.

Enjoy!

Wow, pet--you hair looks amazing! I appreciate your sharing this, as I've been considering the shikaki oil. Nice to have an endorsement!

Keep up the good work, girl!:yep:
