I plan on using henna real soon but I need opinions on what to add to the henna mix. I am not sure if I want jet black or color...but I do want some type of color as well as great conditioning benefits. If you need to know anything about my hair: it's...I wonder if I can claim SL:scratchch which is what I have been claiming, my hair is like a dark, sandy brown and it is extremely dry unless I keep it weighed down with product (which I'm getting sick of), and I'm relaxed.

I tried to do a search and came up with nothing. I have been curious about henna for too long so now it's time for me to woman up and give it a try. This can also be for any other ladies who are also curious about henna.

Thanks

So, nobody has any henna recipes? If you do please share...I wanna be a henna head too...:yep:

Since your hair is dry- i would reccommend using 2 heaping spoonfuls of yogurt ( the large spoon that you use to stir kool-aid with), 100g of henna, a little hot water, 4-5 tablespoons of acv(apple cider vinegar) and any other herbs that you may like such as amla powder, neem powder, tulsi poder, fo-ti powder, shikakai powder and aritha powder. Also you can add a lil oil and honey too. HTH.

Hey!
When I henna, I only add water. Make sure it's either cold or warm, hot water will diminish the amount of color you get. I also recommend rinsing out the henna with a conditioner that will usually over-condition your hair, clarify, then follow-up with a moisturizing shampoo and dc. Doing both a henna and clarify can really dry out the hair, so make sure to dc with heat for atleast an hour. I dc overnight, just to be on the safe side, but it's not really necessary. I also have very dry hair, so I do that for the extra moisture. Good luck with your henna!

K.I.S.S. Mix: :yep:

Henna (strength & color)
Honey (shine & moisture)
Hot Water

That's it girl! Mix and apply immendiately for conditioning. Or mix and wait 4-12 hours for color release.

I am in the keep it simple camp. henna + water & maybe some conditioner, that's it.
