Henna Help Please?

I hope someone can help me.

I did a test on my henna/indigno mix today. For some reason my grey turned almost a blode color. This is how I did it.
I mixed the henna with warm water and let sit overnight. This morning i mixed the indigo with warm water and salt, let sit about 20 mins and then mixed with the henna. I put in the test hair and let sit for 1 hour, and this is what I got.

Any suggestions on what I did wrong or anything different I could try? I have alot of grey in the front and I would like to cover it. Here is a pic of how it turned out.

Hmmm, that's weird. I'd do two things: 1) Let it oxidize for 36 hours then check the color again. 2) Strand test again w/ henna only. You can always do a half henna/half indigo after your first henna.
