I used henna (with honey and conditoner) about 4 days ago. My hair has been extremely dry every since. I have used up all my products trying to get rid of the dryness (which is good, I really wanted to get rid of them). I was just so disappointed from reading all the post I thought henna was going to be heaven.

Did you use any lemon juice, acv or something similar in your mix?

Didn't use any other products except honey and fructis conditioner. I bought the henna from an indian shop. I couldn't read the brand but it has pictures of hands with the henna so I knew it was body art quality. Maybe it was old.

Don't forget, henna is protein. So you may just be feeling the thickness from the treatment. Have you done a deep conditioning since? Try washing again with a moisturizing shampoo and apply a deep conditioner with a plastic cap. Sit under the dryer or apply hot towels for 30-40 minutes.

Another thing you can do Cherry is a Vinegar rinse after you shampoo as a clarifier. Also make sure the condition you are using isn’t a protein based condition.
Have a look at some Fotkis lots of tips there.
I also moisturised my hair afterwards and put a shower cap and warm towel over it for a few hours afterwards. That took away that initial dry feeling and left my hair silky.

Hey, Cherry! Welcome to the boards!

I have also been advised that rinsing your henna out with conditioner, then DCing helps keep the dryness away, too.

HTH!

Thanks Tricie and thanks to everyone else for your suggestions.
