Since I was stood up by my haidresser this Thursday I realized I could not and would not let this woman have no regard for my time and still charge me $55. So I have decided to take matters into my own hands! I have decided that I really want to be able to do my own hair. I haven't had a relaxer in at least a year and a half so my hair when it isn't pressed is kind of fierce. So I ordered the Sedu flat iron, bought the Ion shampoo and conditioner and some ion spray to protect against heat. And I am ready to go. Does anyone have any advice for me getting started as I have never really done my hair in its semi natural state. Are these products any good? Ahh just help!

sorry that you got stood up. that's happened to me a time or two...

I've heard good things about the Ion line but I haven't personally used it. If I were you I would make sure to deep condition then use a light weight leave in or use nothing at all.

The less I use when I flat iron the better it turns out. I think the suggestion about rollersetting then flat ironing is good. Be careful w/ the blow dryer, unless you have good technique. If you rolleret it first though, you will already have the curl on the ends and you can concentrate on the roots.

HTH.
