Okay, so today I was driving home from base and the weavetastic black lady within me whispered me into the ghetto to the weave shop. I get in there, am about to walk out, and the sales person comes to me and asks what I need. Before I can shut my mouth, I point to the curly brazilian (which seems to resemble my hair texture, but then again, it's old and frizzy.) In about 5 minutes I've busted 40 (that's a lot of money for me due to my financial situation right now :x) and am rolling on home feeling like a retard. Finally, I shrug it off, think it'll make for some nice extensions, and shampoo it it the sink. I'm disappointed again when I realize; this ain't nothing like my kinky hair. It's WAVY. Not CURLY. WAVY. So here I sit, bummed out ofr 40 that I could be using for gas, or more importantly, Wendy's, or even more importantly, SAVINGS, or most importantly, a halloween costume, on hair that will not at all match mine.

THe reason I wanted hair that was curly was to go with my wash and goes since I hate pressing my hair these days. I just wanted long hair for a bit so I could feel purty. Now I'm pretty sure I can't use this. Where do I go from here? Anyone wanna buy it off me for less? WWLHCFD?

Here are comparison pics to show how bad it is. Order is Weave, my hair, weave plus my hair, and side by side

OP, I ono watchu talmbout. It looks like a good match to me. It's not like folks will be all up in your head scrutinizing the hair. If you didn't tell me, I'd not be any the wiser that that wasn't your hair. In fact at first glance, I thought the last pic was showing your hair with your hands lifting it on either side ponytails style. It took a double take for me to realize you're holding the fake hair in one hand against your own.

Yea, the color is a slight problem too...I died my hair that color and it didn't take at all. I think it might be the ends of the weave that's the real problem? When it's bunched together it's more believeable but the way the ends fall throw it off because my ends coil.

Also, in all fairness, my hair was soaking wet in the picture. You guys might be right though, I may as well give it a go and see how it works.

You say your real hair was wet in the photos?
If that's the case your hair is going to shrink up into a curly afro and will not hang like the weave.

But the weave was wet too right? If you only leave out a little, I think it will match well. You can always 2-strand twist the leave out if you have to.

That's also true. But there's still the color of it and the fact that it's a bit silky when mine is pretty cottony. Would it be safe for me to dye it?

IA, if you braid up most of your hair and only leave out a small horseshoe, you may be okay! It's really close and even a lot of long-haired curlies have tighter roots.

I'm giving it a try. I'm doing a horshoe part with a bit out on the sides and in the back so that I can wear up like I do my real hair. I'll keep you ladies updated...fingers crossed that it doesn't end up looking crazy lol

That I don't know... If it's human hair you can probably dye it. I'd assume you'd need a 30+ developer to lift it. Darkening it might be easier. If it's permed hair, double processing could be an issue too.

Soo....weave was a bust. It wasn't even completely the blending that was the problem, I got about 90% through and it didn't look right. It might've looked better if I were to straighten it, but to me that would defeat the purpose. It seems like long curly hair just does not favor my face, which puts a huge brick in the whole long hair thing, but maybe its extensions, they tend to not look as good as the real thing.

Anyways, I'll take pics in the morning, before I get to work on taking it out -___- I still plently leftover in case I change my mind, but I doubt I will. I'm actually itching to get my real hair back so I can do a real wash-n-go. Oh well, at least I know I tried!
