Ok, so my edges started breaking a while ago, because I was treating my hair pretty badly. I've been trying to keep them moisturized and applying castor oil whenever I remember. I just straightened my hair for the first time in months and it just looks so funky with lil hairs sticking up.

I need some styling advice for these things. Also treatment advice if yall have any.

I was honestly about to start a similar post. Our hairlines look a lot alike.

Well I'll post what I've just started doing
- stopped tighter pulled back styles. It's either loosely pulled back or out
- making sure my scarf fully covers my edges at night and doesn't rub or get pulled back by morning
- less gel
- no brushing unless it's a baby brush or soft tooth brush
- starting using the LOC method 2x a day with - liquid: rose water, avj, and argon oil mix. Oil: liquid gold sulphur oil. Cream: liquid gold green magic

I've just started this recently so the results are pending. I can say my edges seem more moisturized. Hopefully some progress is noticeable by summer.

I have been flat twisting the front of my hair and pulling the rest back into a bun. This morning I realized this style was both cute, neat, and less stress on my edges. As long as you don't twist tightly it might be a nice way to give our hairline a break.

My hairline also looks similar. Some things I found helpful:

-If you're relaxed, relax your edges last
-Don't brush them, just smooth down gently or comb lightly
-After showering or working out, moisturize or seal edges if it's wet
-Avoid heat or flat iron use

It doesn't look to me like your edges are breaking. Hair around the hairline is just as little shorter. I think it grows that way.

Is it? I only just started having the problem recently though. That's why I'm concerned. I know it's normally shorter but mine right now are only an inch or 2 long. I'm BSL everywhere else. Maybe I need a better pic.

My edges and I have been through a lot... One thing that might contribute to breakage is castor oil and your face wash and/or moisturizer drying out your hair.

Castor oil might be too heavy also. I have fine hair and spraying my hair w/ aloe vera healed my edges 100000x better than a whole jar of Curls Control Paste Edge Control.
