I'm trying to decide if I should get a 1" or 1.5" flatiron. Is it that much of a difference? Does the 1" flat iron get to your new growth easier than a 1.5"?

I personally recommend the 1". I have a 1" Solia and I looove it!I find the bigger ones too big for my taste and get the results that I desire with the smaller iron. With the smaller flat iron I can get to the roots easier, I can do curls and I can maneuver faster and easier. HTH!

ITA - I have the FHI 1 1/2... and am on the hunt for a .5 inch. The smaller irons give more control.

I think the smaller ones are better for more control and to get to the roots as said above. I have a 1" one. I think the bigger bulkier ones are more difficult to handle.

I have a 1" Chi for general purposes
and
a 1/2" or .5" WeeChi that I use for hairline and if I'm doing roots only

I have a 1" Sedu. I love it because I can get closer to the root on my natural hair. The only downside is I have to do smaller sections so it takes a bit longer.

I think a 1" will do the trick. You'll find that the slimmer the iron, the easier it is to handle.
