HELP! UN(not under)processed edges at a salon

Okay - first the rant: I go to JC Penney salon about twice a year to get a touch-up and even out the parts I miss when I self-relax the rest of the time, get a really deep conditioner and a good trim. For YEARS - perfectly happy, any where in the country I've been. BUT - just came from one where I moved to recently and $^#%^%^*(&%!!! All the rest of my head looks and feels great, but there's about a half inch of edges all around my head where it's not relaxed AT ALL! I saw that this girl wasn't putting any on the edges and told her to make sure she got them, and she said she didn't want to burn me or get it on my scalp before that point and then put some on the edges - I even felt it with my fingers to make sure it got on there and it felt like it. But now I'm thinking I just felt the protective gel, because when she was all done all I have is this ring of nappy hair around straight hair!!! I may be overreacting because when I look in the mirror you can't see it as bad as I feel it, but for sure you can see flyaway kinks!!!

So - help! Do I have to just stop looking in the mirror for six weeks or can I just touch up that little ring myself sooner? I doubt very much if the salon will do any "corrective" because now they have you signing a release form before they even do a relaxer so I'm sure they won't go back in there and touch it again.

Thanks for any counseling and advice!!!

I dont think I would do a corrective. I would just wait it out and super moisturize those edges.

I would not want to take the risk of possible damage and breakage. Damage/breakage around the edges is the worst IMO, because it cannot be easily hidden.

Best of luck.

is that TB in your siggy? His body is out of control!! Whew.:lick:

ETA: Invest in a good gel - IC Fantasia for your edges to carry you til the next relaxer - sorry this happened to you ((hugs)))

thanks for the hugs - I'll try to hold out and not risk damaging those edges.
