I washed my hair and did a regular rollerset last week. My hair came out dry but thats because I wanted to see what my hair would be like w/o Infusium Leave In. I took my big comb and moisturizer with me on my trip to MD. When I got ready to go out, I noticed my hair coming out. Not the natural shedding stuff, but little pieces of hair. It didn't stop. I got really upset as well as my family. I tried to flat iron with the Ion heat protectant but it didn't help much. I was one step away from calling my stylist to see what I could do. I would love your feedback on this. I haven't been transitioning very long and I want to continue (w/o the BC) but I don't want that type of damage...especially since I didn't have damage with a relaxer.

Help me on this....I appreciate your feedback and support.

I'm glad you posted for feedback :). Please dont feel stressed out;many people in transition go through this exact same thing . What helps many people out is doing a good trim -- 1-2 inches. Not only does the hair look much better but it also gives you a boost about your appearance as well as cuts down on ALOT of the tangles that develop because of breaking ends. Once you do that just go ahead with deep conditioning and doing your weekly rollersets. Good luck :). -- jainygirl

MsCounselor,

What did you wash your hair with (which brand of shampoo)? Did you not use any type of conditioner on it? It could be that your hair is reacting to no conditioner. One thing is for sure, transitioning hair NEEDS some type of conditioner on it. I am not a hair guru by any means but you probably didn't need to add to the damage by putting heat on your hair (IMHO). Don't fret, though, I'm sure the ladies on this forum will be give you some great advice...

Are you combing from ends to roots? Also, was your hair dry AND hard?

Oh yeah...I should have posted my products! :ohwell:
I washed with CON (for dry, brittle hair), conditioned with Generic Awapuhi. I used Farouk's moisturizer in my damp hair and used medium to large magnetic rollers.
HTH.

Hmmm...(thinking back). I mostly just combed the ends to pull it back into a ponytail or bun. I cant really recall since I was focused on my hair on the counter.
P.S. I'm salivating over that ride (rollercoaster junkie)
