I haven't washed or conditioned my hair for a week and a half. I have no interest in doing anything to it. What's wrong with me?:nono:

But know, a week and a half is not a long time. We all have bouts of 'I don't feel like it'.

When it starts to unintentionally dread, then I'd be concerned.

Maybe you're just getting bored. Maybe braid your hair up and get a wig. That way you can wash it, DC and not have to actually do it. I had that same feeling a few months back and with it being braided now I am at ease.

I think this happens to all of us from time to time. Its normal, you will get to it when your scalp can't take it anymore :)

I feel you. I have been thinking about it so much lately, it is slowly moving from fun to chore. I don't have the time or energy to sit for braids and weaves/wigs are just not me. I can get it into a pretty reasonable wide ponytail/puff so I am just going to keep doing that. I miss the days when I gave no thought to my hair and it did its thing.

I've been through it too. I was obsessed with my hair at one point but then I just got overwhelmed with all of the different challenges and crap I was supposed to be doing to my hair so I stopped. My hair is happier and so am I. I'm sure you'll get back to wanting to take care of your hair again soon.

You can take a low key approach and still get the job done (I do). Put it ina protective style and only dc when it's time to wash. IT can be done. A good ex on youtube is longhairdontcare2011 who only washes and conditions once a month. She's a natural. She's spent times just in protective styling (like me and I'm trailing behind her lol! I'm between waist and hip now. The pics below are from me last year as I haven't done another check yet and won't until I take down my next protective style).

Always modify! If you don't like heat don't use it, or use it the way you see fit. Hair doesn't have to super hard where you're constantly in your head daily. You don't have to cowash daily to get the job done!

I understand how you feel... I've come to a place where I realized I'm tired of doing the extra stuff to my hair.. so I've been doing the basics, shampoo, condition (and deep condition) and moisturized. I've gotten bored with my styles too. Think it's time for me to get my hair done professionally!!

I decided to get my hair braided next week. I have no interest in constantly doing something with it. Maybe I got the winter blues.:nono:

I think we all go through it! I had that for the end of 2010 and well, most of 2011. I went into protective styling mode: kinky twists, braids and buns! My hair kept growing!
I think it is a slump and we get out of it. We just have to make sure we keep doing the basics like moisturizing regularly and DCing every 2 weeks.
Hey I eventually started doing clarifying treatments with Rhassoul clay to get rid of all the gunk that I felt built up! And it's doing me a world of good!

We've all been there. Honey wash your hair cornrow it and throw on a wig. You can wash it every once in a while with the cornrows still in and throw ya wig back on.
