does anyone know a fast way to get out semi permenate hair color? I have fire engine red streaks in my hair of semi permenate and I want to get rid of it. I know it will take days under the faucette anything quicker?

Believe it or not, baby shampoo lifts hair color. I normally henna and added too much indigo so it came out too dark. I shampooed a few times with baby shampoo and it worked!

*Update*

I tried the baby shampoo, then clarifying champoo, then baby shampoo again (my hair has never been this clean, lol) and its still red. not fire engine thought more like chery koolaid, lol. It does look better. maybe a few more washes and I'll be set. Guess I'm a red head for at least another week or two.

If I remember correctly, they sell hair color removers at Sally's. Call Sally's or Trade Secrets and see if they still sell them. Make sure you tell them that you've highlighted your hair. HTHs!

When I used to be a color junkie, I used to use Uncolor by clairol. http://www.folica.com/Clairol_The_Unc_d502.html You would want the liquid formula in the bottle that is designed to remove semi-permanent color. Sally's sells it as well as some local bss. be aware that Sally's may not sell it to you though as they say only licensed professionals can buy it. :ohwell: Do not get the powdered packets as that one is for permanent hair color.

It is very easy to use. If I remember, you saturate your hair with it, put on a plastic cap and I think you sit under the dryer. I have used it in about 2 years. Then you rinse it out. You will probably have to do it more than one to get all the color out. Like a few days apart from each other. It can be drying, so be sure to deep condition well after using it.

I dont particularly like color removers, they are super drying to me. How about just going over your color with another color?
