HELP! I need Miss Jessie's Buttercream Substitute!

I only have about 1/3 of a jar left! I don't want to buy any more until the BOGO sale.

Any suggestions? In the past I've tried Curls Milkshake and shea butter in the past, but NOTHING seems to give me the moisture that MJ Buttercream does.

BTW: I have 4B hair - really course and dry (but fine).

I've never used the buttercreme and not sure of any substitutes sold in shops, but if you're interested in making your own, i found a couple of threads on the hair recipe board.

I dont have a "substitue" but i used to stretch mine using hollywood carrot cream... just put a little less than the amt of buttercreme and mix well... doesnt change the consistency much. or you can try the cantu shea butter leave in... i mix mine w/ avocado butter.. HTH

Thanks everyone. I saw the recipes when I searched before. Unfortunately I'm very lazy. I was hoping there was something out there that could give me the same results that I could buy off the shelf.

I think that that recipe is actually for the curly pudding. That's what most of the ladies I have seen using it on hair boards use it as a substitute for anyway. I was considering trying it but couldn't find any beeswax (even those that said pure and 100%) without petroleum as the first or second ingredient. But I think that you should give it a try because the buttercreme has petroleum in it too. Maybe that's one of the kep ingredients that your hair likes. My hair seems to stay very moisturized with petroleum but I choose not to use it because I don't like to shampoo.

I mix my cantu shea butter leave in with melted pure shea butter I mix it in the food processor so that its thoroughly blened. you can drop in a few drops of peppermint oil if you miss the miss jessie's scent.
