Friends,
I currently have my hair in twists (they've been in for a week) and I really want to co-wash/DC my hair this weekend. Is it possible to do this while keeping my hair in twists? If so, what’s your method?

I've never done it before and am afraid that my hair might end up more tangled afterwards. How have you dealt with this? Either way, I plan to touch-up the top and sides afterwards.

Eagerly awaiting your replies….

I just DC'd in twists last night. I did it on dry hair and I just squeezed the conditioner onto the twist and put a plastic cap on for a few hours. Then I hopped in the shower and let the water saturate my hair. I then squeezed the DC out. I made sure to rinse and squeeze a longer time than I thought necessay just to make sure that all of the conditioner was out. I massaged my scalp during the rinse, but I tried not to disturb the roots too much. I re-did the twists that looked a little raggedy.

HTH

P.S. My twist are hidden under a wig all day so I'm not concerned about how neat and presentable they look

I don't really co-wash that much but when I do I'll make several braids out of my twists, apply poo or conditioner to each section, gently massage the scalp, rinse then squeeze out the excess water.

Sometimes I'll take the braids out to air dry (shrinkage), sometimes I'll leave the braided twists in until nearly dry (less shrinkage) then take them out.

To keep frizzies at bay, the scarf method or any variation of it will work the same way it'd work for loose hair or puffs.

My "usual" would be to rinse/cowash/poo in the afternoon, allow to nearly dry then put my scarf on before bed, remove scarf and next morning, no frizzies.
