Hello Ladies

First - God has smiled on me and allowed me to find this site. I have prayed for longer hair and He has delivery me to this site. You are all a great help and I love the sisterhood I have found here. Keep it up!

I have incorporated many regimen and my hair is the better for it but I notice my hair is still sheading and breaking. So, last night I decided to do a deep protein treatment (Nexxus Emergencee) followed by Suave Humectress for a DC.

Next I rollerset my hair and sat under the hood dryer (I have not used heat in months). When it was all said and done I saw my ends in the sink  and that was after I applied Surge Ultra Max!

After seeing this I was quick to apply my MTG mix - (coconut oil, olive oil, shea butter, grapeseed oil, and garlic). All seem well this morning but I am really looking to get to BSL by 07/07 and I can not afford any set back.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
MonaRae

I'm no expert, but did you rinse it out thoroughly? Emergencee is a very good protein and I never lost hair from using it, so that's strange. . .Maybe the Suave Humectress wasn't a heavy enough deepp conditioner to restore the moisture in you hair. I use Suave for conditioner washes, not really as a deep conditioner. Then it could also be the surge that you applied on your hair afterwards. Maybe it was too much protein?

Hey Monarae,

After a deep protein treatment you need to use moisturizing products to infuse moisture into the hair as intensive protein treatments, although strenthening to the hair, can make the hair dry and brittle.

I like the Aussie Miracle Moist shampoo and conditioner at present and they are working well (I am a PJ and never really stick to one brand of products), but this is good for moisture at the moment.

Also try putting moisturizers on your hair in the form of creamy leave-in and oil moisturizer to soften the hair.

MonaRae, I think I'd do an overnight conditioner treatment with that Suave Humectress you have.

Good luck!

Thanks Ladies!

I will be sure to replace my Nexxus Humectress and just use Suave's Humectress for CW's!

I bought my first phony phonie Friday (12/23/05) and start a 3 month baggie method. After seening my hair is the sink I knew it was time to go deep!

I am also streching my relaxer for 5 month (I'm currently Post Relaxer 6 PR6).

Thanks for the advice!
MonaRae
