just wondering ladies who can use heat once a week and wear your hair down for a couple of days then monday tru friday back in bun with success.. and still see all your growth like kinikakes ... i tried this and my hair retains more growth when i only use heat 1x or 2x per month max and in a bun, deep condition every 3 days... i hope to retain 6 inches this yr which would be mid back please advise

I think it depends on your hair type. Try it and see. Kini has done very well and has found something that works for her to help her retain length and look super beautiful on the weekend. But I don't think this will work for most. Direct heat to often is just not good.

I may be wrong, but I also don't think Kini went to the Dominican salon EVERY week throughout her entire grow out process. She can correct me if I got the wrong impression.

If I were you, I would not formulate a regimen based on heat if I could avoid it, just leave it open for an occasional styling option.

I think Kini has a good regimen as far as wearing hair down on the weekend and then back up Mon-Fri. That way you get a break fromt the tired old granny bun. I decided to follow this schedule with the exception of blow drying. I rollerset then wrap which is much healthier for my hair. I'm on the "hide your hair" for now but once it's over I'll be doing Mon-Fri up and down for the weekend. But to the poster avoid the blowdryer if possible!

I do this the first and second month after I relax. My hair still comes out pretty straight after wrapping at night. I work in the hospital so I dont mind wearing my hair up all week. As for heat I dont straighten out all my hair just parts that need it or the front to lay it down. When it comes to the 3rd and 4th month. I wear it up during the week then if I have time I rollerset and wear half up half down or loosely up. This has worked for me and my hair is striving this way.
