HEAT DAMAGE:(

Since reconstructors repair the broken protein bonds (or something like that, I'm having an airhead moment :) ) I would suggest using a good reconstructor like Joico K-Pak or Millennia Mud Reconstructor. Follow that by a good, long deep condition with a moisturizing conditioner

yes I deep condition once a week and i use protein once a week, and this has helped with keeping my hair strong but i still have little to no curl as if i have a relaxer and i dont. So is this ok as long as its ot breaking? Can i just wait untill this grows out?
Also, should i leave my protein treatment(megatek) on longer/ I leave it on for about ten mins

Usually once the heat has gotten in there good it is a goner. But as long as the hair is not breaking or splitting you should be fine.

so basically i should be fine as long as its not breKING, I Will just have to wear straight styles? Also would a hard aphogee help?

Yep. As long as it's not splitting or breaking, you're good. Either stick with straight styles or you can transition the straight hair off by wearing textured styles, (braidouts, twistouts) and/or protective styles, and giving the heat a break.

ok ladies well i think i may have found somethiing thats workin, I put an egg with my megatek and i m sittn with it on my hair im lettn it get try and hard, and some of the straight pieces are starting to wave and curl! :blush:mayb I should leave this on a little longer? suggestions?

I would do the 2 step Aphogee and keep co-washing, don't rush to trim I've had hair revert weeks after

My edges are still really straight, but they were like that prior to heat for some reason.

I always thought once ends are straight they never grow back. Somehow mine have recovered with: rollerestting and CW's. I cant believe it...

I'm gonna be honest with you... you have 2 choices: cut the heat damaged hair off OR watch the heat damaged hair grow out.

I suffered heat damage back in Oct. 08 and tried every trick LHCF sistas recommended... nothing works to bring heat damaged (fried/burnt) hair back to it's coil. Those are the unfortunate breaks :( I'm still recovering now and I did everything that every one is mentioning. But overtime the new growth will restore your faith that your waves/coils will be back.
