I love this stuff for moisturizing my new growth. There's just something about it. It seems to immediately sink into my hair leaving it soft, silky, and somehow lays my hair down really, really well. It also seems to define curls. I'm not all natural yet but I can tell by the short pieces I have (will post pics!).

After I conditioned washed my hair and applied leave-in, I sectioned my hair and applied the hhb to my new growth only. Then I pulled my hair back into a ponytail to dry. The comb glided through my hair to make it slick and I wouldn't have needed any gel except I have stickies (broken pieces).

Anyhow, give it a try if you're looking for a way to get through that new growth!

Thank you. Keep the tips coming. I'm always looking for something that will help stretch the touch-up time

Hey Hairlove

Yep, I've read wonderful things about HHB & ur testimony just gives me more reassurance

.

Tell me, where did u purchase it (online)? Can u buy it from Sally's?

It's on the "TOP" of my wish list, along with Biolage

Unfortunately, I have to buy it online. There is no Carol's Daughter store where I live. I think it is only in New York (someone correct me if I am wrong.) However, I don't think it's overly expensive. I originally bought a 2oz jar that was $4 and now I bought an 8oz jar for 10 bucks. It should last me a few months. I think you will like it!

A lot of people don't like the smell of it but I love it!

Supergirl,

It's a minty smell to me. Here are the ingredients:
vegetable oil including olive oil infused with lavendar and sage herb, water, beeswax, cocoa butter, shea butter, and essential oils of lavendar, rosemary, lemongrass, cedarwood, and ylang-ylang.
Say to apply to hair as often as needed to soften and promote hair growth.

I just got mine in the mail today and can't wait to try it!! I only bought a 2 oz jar just in case I didn't like it and it was under 4 bucks. I paid more for shipping than I did the actual product.

Hairlove, I see what you mean about the mint smell. I'm not to happy about that, but I still can't wait to try it. It also says to keep it refrigerated...do you refrigerate yours?

I keep mine refrigerated! I originally bought the 2 oz jar, too and now I have the 8oz (i need to edit my other post.) I love the smell. It doesn't bother me at all...but I guess it could be strong if you don't like it. I usually put mimosa hair on my hair - just a tad - for a nice shine and smell before I go to work every morning. Other products may get rid of the smell if you don't like it.

Forgot to say that it's probably ok unrefrigerated, too. It's more firm when refrigerated and I like the coolness on my scalp from it. When it's not refrigerated, it gets a little loose and separates a bit. Not a big deal...I just whip it up with my finger.

I really like the hhb. After washing my hair, I apply in my hair in sections and it really helps to define the curls. In the 3c part of my hair, I just apply hhb and let my hair air dry. For the 4a part, I apply the hhb and then plait my hair and let it air dry (a braid out). My hair stays moisturized and soft all day and the next. A definite keeper.

Carol's Daughter

I loved the HHB when I first started transitioning. But for some reason it just stopped working . As a matter of fact, all of my CD products stopped working after a few months.

I'm keeping them and hoping they will work when I start wearing my hair "out".

Unfortunately, I bought it from one of the members here who didn't like it and I haven't run out yet. Sorry, maybe someone else knows from where it can be purchased.

If anyone is in the DC Metropolitan area, I believe this store carries their products, but call in advance, cuz I've never been there before. I just read about them in the City Paper. I think they sell headwraps too.

Day 2...I woke up this morning and took my scarf off. My hair still looked fresh! It's soooo soft and my braidout ponytail is so definied. I didn't even need to do the gel and scarf trick today! Usually, even after a wash night, I have to redo the gel/scarf trick in the morning before work. There's something about that Healthy Hair Butter! My new growth feels soooo nice and defined and moisturized!! It's now evening and my hair still looks pretty good! Without the hhb, my hair would begin to look dull by midday!

I love this too!

Ditto! I use it now even though I'm texturized. It lays my hair down when I do my buns and when I 'coil' my hair. I only ever use it on wet hair... it's dries so soft and shiney with a soft hold...

I used it for the first time last night and I am IN LOVE!!!

My hair is soft even before I put products in, but it tangles easily, even when it's dry. But after I moisturized my new growth with the hhb, the comb just fell through my hair...all the way to the ends. And my hair has such a healthy shine that I just can't help but stop and stare every time I pass a mirror. And the waves from my new growth are very well defined!

I am ordering a bigger jar RIGHT NOW!! Heaven forbid should I run out of this stuff!

Angel, sorry that no one ever answered but I usually just use it after I wash. Occasionally, I'll moisturize my edges with it at night before bed or a little if I have some frizz.

The FedEx man just handed me my HHB (and the Hair Milk and Mimosa Hair Honey (with a little flower in stuck in the middle). I hope I get good results tonight when I wash!!

Has anyone used both regular shea and CD Healthy Hair butter? I'd like to know the difference between the two types of hair butter, please...

I use the HHB when my hair is wet. I use my shea and oil combo on my hair when it's dry. I get 2 different 'feels' to my hair. I can't explain it...oh as far as shea butter alone(no oils added) I didn't like it(made my hair hard both when I was transitioning, and when natural...I'm texturized now). But shea butter is very different from the HHB. The HHB is more moisturizing to me...maybe because I use it to seal in the moisture.
