Head and Shoulders Dandruff products

They all contain pyrithione zinc. How does this work on the scalp? Does anyone know if this is an exfoliant, like salicylic acid? Salicyclic acid is in a lot of dandruff products too.

I just used some an hour ago actually.

If you've been scratching really hard and you go to use it, it may tingle a little. But I've been using it and it cleanses my scalp really well as opposed to other shampoos. It's not very drying to me at all.
