I haven't tried WGO yet, but I heard alot of good from it and a little bit of bad, like the mold that grew inside someone's WGO. Have you tried it? Is it a good investment for hair?

Today is the first day that I started using it.

I've measured my hair, for the amount of new growth I've had since I dyed my hair.

I'll see in a month how it is.

I really don't like the smell though.

I have used WGO in the past and had a little success but my friend hair grew real long from using WGO. In fact, she was the reason why I started using it:) I haven't used it lately, maybe I'll pick up some and use to seal my ends :ohwell:

I use it off and and on. I saw growth while using it.

ETA: I didnt vote because I get growth without it also.

Thanks for the response ladies anymore. Oh and I'm trying this experience that some people that have been talking about. I mix yellow sulphur thats in mtg with my wgo so i will see how much that will contribute to my growth.

My hair has grown without ever trying WGO. Since I've started using Garnier Length and Strength products and Amla oil, I've already noticed more health, strength, and growth.

I have used WGO on and off for about 2 years. If I had found this board back then and knew how to retain length, I would be waist length by now.
Example: I relaxed 2 weeks ago and I already have close to 1 inch of new growth. Now, I also take Biotin and MSM everyday, but I know my WGO has contributed a lot to my accelerated growth.

I tried Wild Growth Oil when I first found hairboards and used 2 bottles of it but I do not think it contributed to my growth. I am not really a fan of it but I know many ladies that love it ! :)

I don't know how to answer the poll.

I have been using WGO every time I wash my hair (2-3 times a week) since May 2005. I have not experienced anything near wild growth. My hair has grown about 1/4 inch per month which is the 'normal' rate. So I only consider WGO to be a moisturizer for my hair and scalp, it doesn't do much for me as a growth aid.

"Wild Growth" is the name of the oil, not what it does!;)

I voted no.

WGO is cool in terms of sealing in my water-based moisturizer.... but in my experience, it has nothing to do with growth, accelerated or otherwise. *shrug* I know many folks are attracted to it by its name, but Ive found that its just another (olive-oil based) carrier oil.

But its great that you guys have gotten such good growth from it! That's really wonderful. Good luck and happy continued hair growth. :)

I bought it, but I didn't use it like I should. I was using it to seal my hair every now and then. I just started putting it on my scalp, maybe twice a week.

I voted no.

When I used it, WGO helped make my new growth much easier to comb...which in turn, helped retain lenght. I think that's what it does, it didn't make my hair take off and grow.

Back when I was wearing full-weaves, it helped grow my hair by retaining length for me by keeping my strands moisturized, and strong. My hair would probably still benifit now that I'm doing the baggie method with my real hair but the WGO stinks, and everyone will smell it, and I can't be that person if you know what i mean.

Like other people have commented, I do not use WGHO a growth aid but rather as moisturiser. I use it to moisturise my scalp and ends, and I like how it feels. If it has aided in hair growth for me then I am unaware of this.

I've never used it and my hair has grown.

To be completely honest, the website advertising it just irked me. It was poorly designed and most of the "testimonials" seemed so fake I just couldn't take the claims seriously at all.

It works like nothing else has on my scalp. But I dont think it contributes to my growth as far as making it grow faster but maybe it helps me retain what I get normally.

This is a great oil for sealing you ends, etc. It makes my hair really soft, I son't even bother to put it on my scalp because I really don't think it will work for growth. But I still think it is worth it as a sealing oil.

I just use WGO from time to time as a hair softener. so far, my hair has grown on its own without any hair growth aids....

I've realized how much the smell annoys me..

Yuck..

I don't know how I'm going to fix this, because I have work tomorrow

I vote with WGO as a sealant only. Not to mention it works wonders on NG, but if you do low manipulation who needs the comb???

My SO hates it and I dont believe Ill buy anymore. To be honest MN (monistat) 4% is the only thing I saw that accelerated my growth.

Hope this helps..

I used WGO a couple of years ago, but not consistent enough to see any change. I've been using it for the past month and although it's too early to comment on whether or not it speeds growth, I can say that it makes my hair sooooo soft and shiny! I can't stand the smell, but I've found that if I don't over do it, the smell generally disappears after a few hours. This stuff smells so bad that the smell actually woke me up in the middle of the night one time.

ITA. I like it as an oil, but it didn't change my growth rate or anything.

**Off topic** Sareca, your wash n go is off the hook girl!
Ok! Back to business. I like the softening properties, nothing exceptional as far as growth.

I agree with most people in that it does not have a direct correlation to hair growth, however, it is an excellent sealant which helps in retaining length and growing long hair.
